NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 12, 2024)-Renowned bluegrass musician and 2-time IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year Alan Bibey is set to release his deeply moving new single, “Time,” on Billy Blue Records. The track, featuring thought-provoking lyrics and a beautiful melody, was co-written by bluegrass songwriters Jack Shannon (“Same Old Moon” by Jim Hurst) and the prolific Rick Lang (“Just Beyond” and “Blue Collar Gospel”).

Alan Bibey shared his personal connection to the song, noting, “The first time I heard the song, it really struck me. It was around the time my dear friend, Terry Baucom, passed. I’ve thought of him every time I hear the lines ‘When you’re gone, what will they say? Did you live your life or let it slip away.’ Terry lived his life to the fullest and is a good role model for us all. I dedicate this recording to Terry’s memory. As you listen, maybe the memory of a special friend will come to your mind and make you smile as Terry’s memory does for me.”

Billy Blue Records A&R Director Jerry Salley, also an accomplished songwriter, expressed his appreciation for the song, stating, “The first time I heard this song, I wished I had written it. The perfect marriage of melody and rhyme. A song to remind us all that our time on earth is limited, and we need to live each day to its fullest.

The chorus of “Time” captures the heart of the song’s message:

From our first heartbeat
The clock starts spinnin’ round
Comes to a stop when we’re laid in the ground
Life can be gone in the blink of an eye
Don’t waste another minute of
Time

“Time” serves as a poignant reminder of life’s fleeting nature and the significance of treasuring each moment. Alan Bibey’s sincere performance, paired with the exceptional songwriting of Shannon and Lang, results in a timeless creation that will surely resonate deeply with all who listen.
