Bluegrass Legend Doyle Lawson Returns with First New Recording from Quicksilver Since Retirement Announcement

NASHVILLE, Tenn. [July 29th, 2026] — After announcing his retirement from touring, legendary bluegrass icon Doyle Lawson has returned to the recording studio with Quicksilver, beginning an exciting new chapter with Turnberry Records. The debut single for the label, “The Signs”, marks the first release from an all-new Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver album and signals a highly anticipated return for one of bluegrass music’s most influential and beloved artists.  “The Signs” is available now to radio via Get It Played. 

Penned by acclaimed songwriters Donna Ulisse and Alan Alley, “The Signs” delivers a timely message of compassion, empathy, and understanding in a world too often quick to judge. Through vivid storytelling, the song reminds listeners that everyone carries unseen burdens and encourages extending grace before passing judgment.

Lawson’s decision to record again is welcome news throughout the bluegrass community. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he has become one of the genre’s most respected ambassadors, earning countless accolades, including multiple International Bluegrass Music Association and Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America awards, along with induction into the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.

Although he previously stepped away from full-time touring, Lawson’s desire to continue making music never faded and his commitment to creating meaningful music remains as strong as ever. Along with a new album, he and Quicksilver will return to the stage for a very limited number of performances, giving audiences another opportunity to experience one of bluegrass music’s most iconic acts.
