The Endless Line

“The Endless Line” is a Southern Gothic journey into Appalachian ghost folklore

Charlotte, NC — Just in time for Halloween, The Rabbit Council releases “The Endless Line,” a haunting new single steeped in Appalachian Mountain ghost lore. Rooted in Southern Gothic Americana, the track blends cowboy train song rhythms and a touch of new wave shimmer, perfect for Halloween programming and autumn playlists.

At just two and a half minutes in total runtime, “The Endless Line” is tight, and highly programmable — a strong fit for any Americana, folk, country or rock playlist.

The song tells the story of a spectral soul trapped on an eternal loop, riding a trail steeped in Appalachian mysticism and surreal Americana, echoing the mood of Southern Culture on the Skids and classic cowboy tracks. There’s also a wink of novelty to lighten the mood.

Lee Baber, the principal artist behind The Rabbit Council, is joined by Jon Leeds on drums and production. Both artists are alumni of Appalachian State University and former entertainers at a popular mountain amusement park whose trains and vibe helped inspire the story and sound of “The Endless Line.”

The release follows The Rabbit Council compilation (May 2025) and a trio of collaborative singles released in August. Tracks by The Rabbit Council have aired on SiriusXM and community and college radio stations across the U.S.

Music blog Boulimique de Musique praised The Rabbit Council as “refreshing… a gently psychedelic atmosphere… inhabited by a touch of madness (to) nourish the spirit.”

Recommended for Americana shows, and timely for fall-themed playlists.
