Shift Whistle Blues

Shift Whistle Blues is a stirring bluegrass instrumental inspired by the coal mine whistles that once echoed through the hollers of Eastern Kentucky. Co-written by Marty Falle and Jonathan Yudkin, the piece uses fiddle, banjo, dobro, mandolin, guitar, and penny whistle to capture the determination, sacrifice, and hope of generations of Appalachian miners and their families. A powerful musical tribute, it honors the rhythm of coal country and the enduring spirit of the communities it shaped.
