Roan Mountain

“Roan Mountain” by Adam and Amy Pope is an Appalachian roots/bluegrass story song about a heartbroken man roaming the mountain at night. Adam wrote it while driving alone through the fog on Roan Mountain — “this chorus just jumped right into my head, like the mountain wanted me to have it.” Amy sings lead with Adam on harmony. Produced by Darin Aldridge, with David Johnson on fiddle and dobro, Tim Surrett on upright bass. Mixed and mastered by Van Atkins at The Shop Studio in Candler, NC.
