Teddy Barneycastle Releases Powerful New Single “Lonesome Side of Town” on Huckleberry Records
Nashville, TN — Bluegrass artist Teddy Barneycastle releases his deeply personal new single, “Lonesome Side of Town,” on Huckleberry Records, a moving song of heartbreak, faith, patience, and restoration drawn directly from his own life journey.
Barneycastle first heard the song in the early morning hours while driving the tour bus for the band Sideline, en route from Florida to Kentucky. Sent by producer and guitarist Pat Flynn, the demo arrived at 1:30 a.m. With nothing but the highway ahead and the quiet of the night around him, Barneycastle pressed play—and instantly felt the melody and lyrics connect to his soul.
More than a decade earlier, Barneycastle and his wife had walked through one of the darkest seasons of their lives. After separation and divorce, the two spent years apart, yet his heart carried a single message: “I will be right here waiting if you ever change your mind.” Five years later, their lives were reunited, choosing to fight for their marriage and walk forward together once again. “Lonesome Side of Town” reflects that valley, the waiting, and the redemption found when faith and love endure.
“God used the loneliest, most broken time of our lives to minister to others,” says Barneycastle. “Not every story ends in reconciliation, but for us, waiting on the lonesome side of town led to the restoration of our family. Love is patient. Love is kind. Most of all, love never fails.”
