Little Horse of Mine

By shane@soundbiscuit.com

We, Laney and Bishop, grew up in horse families. Horse culture and tradition surrounding it ran parallel to the deep music roots that were also part of every day life. Laney wrote most of this song as a memoir or dedication to a true story from a trip with his father, and the horse that tragically lost it's life in the Smoky Mountains on a long ride. Bishop adapted the tune and made a song of it. Horses, like dogs and music, are things that make the human experience better.
The instrumentation includes only Laney and Bishop, and Buddy Melton sings harmony. Ironically, years ago, Melton (a horse trader in his own right) bought Bishop's first pony from her for his daughter.
