BETH LEE RELEASES NEW SINGLE

“Life Keeps Moving On”

A Late-Night Reverie from the Blue Ridge Mountains

BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC — Bluegrass and Americana songwriter Beth Lee announces the
release of her new single, “Life Keeps Moving On,” the follow-up to her debut release “Demons
in the Wind.” Recorded at Shift Studios in Asheville, NC, the track is a bittersweet, late-night
meditation on memory, time, and the beauty that persists even after loss — rooted deeply in the
landscape and spirit of Western North Carolina.
“This song opens the doorway to that familiar feeling of lying awake in the
night, listening to the world outside while your mind wanders the winding path
of life. Written in the Swannanoa River Valley, surrounded by the Blue Ridge
Mountains, the song grew out of those quiet nighttime hours when the forest
seems to come alive with a whippoorwill calling, wind moving through the trees,
moonlight slipping between the branches, and a distant train whistle carrying
across the valley.”
— Beth Lee
The song captures the quiet loneliness and beauty of the small hours when memories surface
on their own, the night stretches on, and life itself seems to pass both slowly and far too fast.

Central to its imagery is the sound of a distant train whistle echoing through the valley, a detail
that carries particular resonance for listeners in the region. After Hurricane Helene devastated
Western North Carolina, the train tracks through the Swannanoa Valley fell silent for well over a
year. When the trains finally returned, communities across the valley celebrated the familiar
sound. In “Life Keeps Moving On,” that whistle becomes a symbol of resilience, a reminder
that even after devastating loss and change, life carries forward.
Lee weaves a tale all listeners can relate to, the ups and downs and reflections of life’s river of
time and marks a pivotal new chapter for the Black Mountain, North Carolina-based artist,
one who has spent decades honing her craft before stepping fully into the role of recording artist
and lead vocalist.

THE RECORDING
Recorded at Shift Studios in Asheville, NC, the track showcases the region’s deep musical well.
Lee is joined by a lineup of Western North Carolina musicians: Audie McGinnis on guitar, Zane
McGinnis on banjo, Sav Sankaran on bass, Ty Gilpin on mandolin, and Lyndsay Pruitt on violin.
Harmony vocals are contributed by Amanda Platt, the widely celebrated Americana and roots-
country vocalist, whose voice adds another layer of emotional depth to Lee’s lead.
