I’ve Got Them Blues

Bluegrass group 7 Mile Band is bringing their signature hard-driving sound to listeners with the release of their new single, “I’ve Got Them Blues.” Rooted in traditional bluegrass while embracing their own original style, the band continues to build a reputation for music that blends strong picking, tight harmonies, and stories drawn from everyday life.

“I’ve Got Them Blues” began with a simple story shared with band member Billy Self, who wrote the song after hearing a humorous real-life tale from a forklift driver. The story quickly turned into a catchy bluegrass tune that reflects the band’s passion for songs people can relate to.

“Real life is just what we like to write about,” the band explains. “Sometimes the best songs come from the simplest stories, and we hope people connect with it.”

The five-member group prides itself on performing original music while maintaining a unique, hard-driving bluegrass style that sets them apart. Their sound is built around traditional instrumentation and strong vocal harmonies.

Though the band members live across several communities throughout central and southern Ohio, they come together through their shared passion for bluegrass music and live performance.

In addition to performing, 7 Mile Band is deeply committed to supporting the bluegrass community. The group hosts an annual bluegrass festival in Central Ohio that has grown into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to giving bands opportunities to perform and bringing together musicians and fans each year for a celebration of bluegrass music.
