Empty Pair of Shoes

“Empty Pair of Shoes” is the title cut. It was inspired by the loss of a dear friend who was vibrant, generous and loving – and a little eccentric. She danced for a living. Cathy Fink and I had been trying to write a song in her honor. One day I was looking out my third-floor window onto the city street when I saw an abandoned coat and shoes down at the bus stop. That was it!
