Della Jane’s Heart

Award-winning Appalachian Road Show release their new single, “Me Against the Mountain,” available today from Billy Blue Records at radio and all streaming outlets. The track is the third single from Della Jane’s Heart, the band’s much-celebrated album recently announced as a 2026 IBMA nominee for Album of the Year, following hit singles “Della Jane’s Heart” and “Won’t Be Long.”

Written by Ian Munsick, Jeremy Spillman, and Randy Montana, “Me Against the Mountain” is moody, passionate, and achingly human. It’s the story of a man with nothing left to lose and everything to gain, fighting through every obstacle between himself and the woman he loves. A desperate, beautiful push toward something just out of reach.

“In a fitting turn of events, Ian (Munsick) actually appeared on the Grand Ole Opry the very same night Appalachian Road Show made its Opry debut. We’ve always heard this song as a kind of desperate prayer: one man, one mountain, and the woman he loves waiting somewhere beyond it. He knows the cold may kill him, but staying where he is has become its own kind of death. That is what gives the song its power. The mountain is real, but it is also every impossible thing that has ever stood between us and the person, the place, or the life we’re trying to reach. That imagery, and the fierce devotion at the heart of it, made the song feel as though it already belonged somewhere within the world of Appalachian Road Show,” shares fiddle player and co-founder Jim VanCleve.

VanCleve is joined by bandmates Barry Abernathy on lead vocals, Darrell Webb on mandolin, Zeb Snyder on acoustic guitar, and Todd Phillips on upright bass.
