Cornbreads and Butterbeans

Written by Don Whiston and first recorded and released by Johnny Tyler and The Riders of the Rio Grande in 1948, this song is rooted in the African American string band tradition. It was later popularized by the Carolina Chocolate Drops on their 2010 album “Genuine Negro Jig.”
