Bluegrass Love Songs, Volume One
Bluegrass Love Songs, Volume One is a collection of sweet-sounding heartbreakers, classic bluegrass love songs where nobody ends up in a river. Trish often says there are really two kinds of bluegrass love songs: the heartbreak ones and the ones where someone definitely meets an unfortunate end. This album focuses on the gentle side. It features traditional favorites reimagined with care and clarity, along with instrumentals that speak their own kind of love. Warm bass, lonesome fiddle, and rich harmony vocals give each track a timeless feel. It is the sound of love gone sideways, wrapped in three chords and the truth.
The project was recorded at Arrandem Studios and produced by Trish Imbrogno and Christopher Henry. It brought together an extraordinary group of musicians whose artistry shaped the heart of the album. Dede Wyland contributed guitar and vocals, Murphy Henry added banjo and vocals, Rainy Miatke played mandolin, and Becky Buller brought her unmistakable fiddle work. Their collective musicianship helped create an album that honors tradition while offering a fresh, heartfelt take on songs that have lived in the bluegrass canon for generations. Bluegrass Love Songs, Volume One is both a love letter to the genre and a reminder that not every story has to end in tragedy.
